On February 9-11, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Rajana Chantarasa, Director of the Research and Development Institute, assigned Assistant Professor Dr. Morakot Worachaicharoen, Deputy Director for Research and Dissemination, Ms. Suangsuda Sapjaroen, Head of the Research and Dissemination Department, Ms. Chutima Theerasuwun, Research Officer, and Mr. Ampon Chirapruek, Procurement Specialist, to participate in the academic exhibition at the 2024 Ban Chiang World Heritage Tourism Promotion event. The event was held at the Ban Chiang Cultural Plaza, Ban Chiang Subdistrict, Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province.
At the event, the Research and Development Institute of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University showcased its research and innovation projects under the theme **“Enhancing Tourism and Creative Cultural Services for the Tai Phuan Way of Life in the Context of Creative Economy for Post-COVID-19 Sustainable Competitiveness and Self-Reliance.”** The institute presented three key projects:
1. **Innovation in High-Temperature Energy-Efficient Ceramic Kiln to Enhance Competitiveness and Self-Reliance**
This project was led by Dr. Phanu Phatthanapanitiphong, Associate Professor Dr. Rajana Chantarasa, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
2. **Design and Improvement of Tai Phuan Landscape and Check-In Points for Post-COVID Tourism**
Led by Assistant Professor Dr. Kanyaphat Thanakulwutiroj, Dr. Duangjai Limsaksee, Assistant Professor Dr. Morakot Worachaicharoen, and other faculty members. This project also aligns with SDGs, particularly Goal 1, Goal 8, Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17.
3. **Enhancing Ban Chiang Cultural Tourism Platform Towards Digital Commercialization Based on Tai Phuan Identity**
Led by Dr. Nattacha Wattanaprapa, Faculty of Science and Technology, the project aligns with SDGs, including Goal 1, Goal 8, Goal 9, Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and Goal 17.
The event featured various activities, including:
– Special exhibitions from the Fine Arts Department and Udon Thani Rajabhat University and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (Research and Development Institute collaborated with the Udon Thani Study Center).
– An exhibition of contemporary art by the Spindle Group at Nouveau Art Space.
– Workshops on making fabric mobiles, indigo tie-dyeing, and batik painting.
– Traditional craftsmanship demonstrations, including weaving, tie-dyeing, and blacksmithing.
This event aimed to promote the heritage and cultural tourism of Ban Chiang, contributing to sustainable local development through research, innovation, and community engagement.
