Product code: Door Knocker, Brass newest Federal Entry Knocker, Old Architectural Salvage, from "Solitude" Mansion in Upstate New York

The old brass door knocker is in a classic federal style, and it's in remarkable condition for being well over 100 years old. What's really cool is the tag attached which offers the newest provenance. One side of the tag reads "The Laussats settled in N.Y. around 1780 - Anthony Sr. died Jan 23rd 1829", and the other side reads "From front door of SOLITUDE Old Laussat Mansion in Katskill (sic) Mountains near Arkville N.Y. 1817." How cool is that? Some wear and minor abrasions in the metal, but no breaks, no cracks, no repairs, no problems. The brass appears to have been cast. The mounting plate is flat and has two long mounting screws (with nuts). The mounting plate measures 7 3/8" high by 4 1/2" wide and the knocker loop is about 3" deep. The screws are 2 3/8" long, and it weighs just over 1 pound.
