Product code: Newest Vintage Union Pacific Railroad China Cabochon Pin Set in Sterling

A pretty historical piece of china (a pin) set in sterling. Part of America's history! This piece of jewelry shows one of the scenes that were important to early American life that are found on this vintage set of Union Pacific Railroad china.
In 1862, chartered by an act of Congress and signed in to law by Abraham Lincoln, the Union Pacific Railroad was created to link America's East and Midwest to the rapidly growing West Coast. The driving of the GOLDEN SPIKE, May 10, 1869 at Promontory, Utah celebrated the uniting of America by rail. This first transcontinental rail line heralded the beginning of a new era of economic development for the United States.
This Union Pacific copyrighted china carries the Union Pacific logo at the top of each piece, a buffalo emblem at the bottom and 5 repeating decorative scenes commemorating early American life along the edges. While few china pieces newest remain intact today, even the broken pieces have become collector's items with the two emblems being particularly sought after. The group of scenes repeat 4 times around the edges of each plate and then different plates and saucers will have slightly different sizes of these scenes. FREE SHIPPING!
